Overview
Resonance is a mobile app that analyzes your music listening history and preferences to give you a better understanding of why you listen to what you listen to. Originally, this was a submission for the HackPSU Fall 2024 season. However, the idea sparked something in me and I have decided to undertake it outside of the hackathon. This app should someday work with Spotify, Apple Music, YouTube Music, Amazon Music, and more! I am working on this project alone, however, if you wish to contribute or join the team, please email me! You can see some more information on the Devpost.
The Problem
Why do you listen to the music you do, really? Do you fully understand the emotions going through your head while you listen to an old Taylor Swift song, or a beat by Drake? The problem is that you don’t, of ir you do, you only understand it on a surface level.
The Solution
The solution is Resonance. Resonance looks at your listening history and understands each song down to the lyric, the note, the rhyme. The important part about music, is that different people interpret it different ways. That works with Resonance too! Resonance can understand through your music the feelings and emotions that you may not fully grasp as just a listener. And that’s why Resonance is so unique.
The Future of Resonance
Resonance has a rocky future ahead. There is a big difference between and MVP for a hackathon, and an MVP that I’ll give to users. Side note, if you are interested in becoming a beta tester, please email me! Beta testers get exclusive lifetime perks if chosen! Anyways, the future of Resonance will be in the distant future. There are many steps to its development that are not yet reached. If you are interested in its current trajectory or status, feel free to reach out!
